Chelsea receive Sule boost

Chelsea have been handed a boost in signing Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule this summer.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on pursuing a new centre-back and has his sights on landing someone from the Bundesliga.

He was initially keen on a summer deal for RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano but the Frenchman has now agreed to join Bayern.

Hence, the attention has shifted to Sule whose future with the European champions is uncertain ahead of the summer.

According to Bild, Bayern are prepared to hold negotiations with Sule whose contract expires in less than 17 months' time.

However, they are unlikely to propose a wage hike amid the coronavirus pandemic and  and a disagreement could pave the way for his exit.

The west London giants are closely monitoring the situation and may make an attempt to sign him at the end of the season.

Sule is valued at around £30m by Bayern but they could accept a lesser fee of £25m as he is approaching the last year of his contract.
