Man Utd won't meet Kounde asking price

Manchester United are reluctant to meet the asking price for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, a report from The Mail claims.

Kounde has developed into one of La Liga's most consistent centre-backs and he was part of Sevilla's Europa League winning side last term.

He is definitely in demand ahead of the summer and Sevilla have reportedly set a price tag of around £68m to ward off suitors.

According to The Mail, the Red Devils have scouted Kounde in the past and he is one of the top names on their summer wishlist.

However, they have no plans of coughing up £68m to sign him when the transfer window reopens in less then five months' time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on landing a left-footed centre-back to partner Harry Maguire and they have yet to identify any top target.

AS Monaco's Beniot Badiashile, who is left-footed, confirmed United tried to sign him last summer and the club could return for his services.
