Liverpool interested in signing Argentine midfielder
Liverpool are reportedly lining up a move for Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul as they aim to find a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.
Wijnaldum's current deal with the club expires in June and he has shown no indication that he will commit to a new contract.
According to Tutto Udinese, the reigning Premier League champions have earmarked De Paul as a suitable replacement for the Dutchman.
Inter have also been credited with an interest in the 19-time Argentina international but the Reds are deemed favourites to land the 26-year-old.
The club are prepared to meet the reported £26m asking price and on top of this, they are willing to hand the Argentine with a bumper wage contract.
De Paul has contributed five goals and four assists in 24 games for Udinese, where he is the present club-captain.
He was valued at around £35m last summer but none of the interested sides were willing to meet the price tag.
His contract does not expire until June 2024 but Udinese are likely to sanction his sale amid the financial impact of COVID-19.
