Chelsea board believe they can land Haaland this summer

Chelsea's hierarchy believe they can secure the services of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window.

Haaland is widely regarded as one of the best young strikers in the world and he has been grabbing plenty of attention of late.

The 20-year-old has netted 27 goals from as many games for Dortmund this term and there are claims that his future may lie elsewhere next season.

According to ESPN, the Blues have joined the race for the marksman and feel they have a slight advantage over their European rivals.

The west London side are prepared to tempt Haaland with a lucrative pay alongside the lure of playing in the English capital.

Meanwhile, they are willing to make him the marquee player in their squad and the main focus of attraction in the attack.

Haaland's current deal has a £68m buy-out clause, but that does not become active until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Still, Dortmund have been fancied to sell the Norwegian this summer for a significantly higher fee of around £100m.
