Cudicini linked with Aston Villa

Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini could be heading to Premiership rivals Aston Villa in the summer as Martin O'Neill looks to find a new number 1 shot stopper for next season.

Scott Carson looks to be heading back to Liverpool in the summer where he will be number 2 to Pepe Reina next year; meanwhile fellow target Jussi Jaaskelainen apparently has ridiculous wage demands.

So, Carlo Cudicini has emerged as a shock target for the Villains as they line up a replacement.

Chelsea have always maintained that Cudicini has been happy at the club for many years; but the truth is the Italian is probably too good to play second fiddle for another year.

Chelsea will allow the keeper to leave for around £3 million.
