Manchester United receive boost in signing French defender
Manchester United have received a boost in signing Real Madrid Raphael Varane during the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has been with Los Blancos for nearly a decade where he has accumulated more than 350 appearances in all competitions.
He continues to remain a regular at the heart of the defence, but could be on the move when the current campaign concludes.
According to AS, Varane is reluctant to sign a new contract beyond June 2022 and that may see Los Blancos sanction his sale.
Varane is entering the prime of his career and he wants to pursue a new challenge preferably in the Premier League.
United were close to signing the World Cup winner in 2019 before he was convinced to stay by the return of manager Zinedine Zidane.
The Red Devils may return with a fresh approach this summer. It is reported that Los Blancos could demand around £70m for his services.
Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with the ex-Lens graduate.
