Manchester United to sign former Arsenal goalkeeper?
Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
The Argentine impressed for Arsenal during the closing stages of last season following an injury to Bernd Leno.
However, he parted ways with the Gunners during the summer after he was not offered the assurance of regular game time.
He has since been in superb form for the Villans and has kept 14 clean sheets during the ongoing league campaign.
According to The Mail, the Red Devils are bracing for the departure of David de Gea when the transfer window reopens.
Dean Henderson has been a quality deputy, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants another top-class goalkeeper to compete for the number one role.
Martinez is one of the players under consideration, but he won't come on the cheap with more than three years remaining on his contract.
Villa signed him from the Gunners for around £20m and they may demand as much as £50m to sanction his sale.
