Manchester United, Liverpool enter race for £36m Bundesliga playmaker

Marcel Sabitzer news

Sabitzer wanted by EPL trio

Manchester United and Liverpool could compete with Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig this summer.

The Austrian has been with Leipzig for the past seven years, registering 50 goals and 41 assists from 219 appearances.

According to Bild, Sabitzer could be on the move this summer amid his reluctance to sign a new contract with the German side.

His current deal expires in 15 months' time and it is claimed that Leipzig may be compelled to sanction his exit this summer.

United and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the versatile midfielder, who is valued at around £36m.

Spurs are long-term admirers of the 27-year-old and it is claimed that they may have the advantage in the player's pursuit.

The north London giants are understood to be in contact with Sabitzer's agents since last summer's transfer window.

Sabitzer has played in a more central role this term after featuring higher up the field during the course of the previous campaign.
