Emerson refuses to rule out Chelsea exit

Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has refused to rule out a potential move  away from the club this summer.

The Italian has dropped down the pecking order this term and he is regarded as the third-choice left-back behind Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell.

He has made just seven starts across all competitions this term and speaking to RAI Sport, he said that it is too early to judge his future.

Palmieri has previously talked about a possible return to Serie A and he refused to rule out a switch away from the Premier League.

He said on international duty: "It's still early to talk about the future. I am focused on the national team only. We'll see what happens in June."

Emerson will enter the final year of his contract this summer and the Blues are bound to consider his departure.

Inter Milan and former club AS Roma are among the front-runners to sign the 26-year-old, who has 13 caps with Italy.
