Konate on Man United radar?

Manchester United have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to sign Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig this summer.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that the Reds were in advanced negotiations with Leipzig and they were preparing to meet the player's €40m release clause.

However, the story was dismissed by Leipzig's hierarchy, and Eurosport claims that United are also in the running to sign the centre-back.

Konate has struggled with several injuries over the past 18 months, but he is still rated highly among the elite European clubs.

His regular injuries have meant that he has lost his place in the starting XI, but Leipzig are aware of the Frenchman's potential.

With the expected departure of Dayot Upamecano to Bayern Munich, Leipzig see Konate as the natural successor, though they can't control his future.

Arsenal have also been linked with the 21-year-old, who has yet to make his senior France debut. He was on Under-21 duty during the international break.
