Arsenal have agreed fee to sign on-loan star
Arsenal have reportedly finalised the fee for the permanent transfer of Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mat Ryan.
The Australia international joined the Gunners on loan during the winter transfer window, and he has since made two appearances.
He has stood out in both outings. He recently came up with a crucial header in the box, which contributed to the equalising goal against Fulham.
According to Football Insider, the Gunners are likely to pay an initial fee between £3-5m to sign the goalkeeper on a permanent deal.
There will be additional add-ons in the deal, but the overall package will be less than Brighton's £10m valuation back in January.
The Gunners are expected to go through a major rebuild this summer, but they appear comfortable with their goalkeeping options.
Bernd Leno has been the first-choice goalkeeper in recent years, but the coaching staff believe Ryan could offer strong competition.
Alex Runarsson was excluded from the Europa League squad earlier this year, and he could make way with Ryan's permanent move.
