Chelsea to spend £90m on 27-goal striker?

Romelu Lukaku news

Lukaku set for Chelsea comeback?

Chelsea could make a club-record move to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan this summer, The Sun claims.

The Belgian has excelled for the Nerazzurri this term with 27 goals. 21 of those have come in the league where they are top of the table.

According to The Sun, the Blues are planning to pursue a new striker with Timo Werner failing to make a mark.

Werner has bagged 11 goals and 12 assists this term, but he has been guilty of squandering numerous clear-cut chances.

Lukaku, who was previously with the club between 2011 and 2014, has been identified as the top striker target.

He came close to rejoining them from Everton in 2017 before he made the surprise move to Manchester United.

Inter are currently facing financial concerns amid the pandemic, and they have a deficit of more than £130m.

They need to balance their books before the end of June, and it is claimed that Lukaku could be sold.

The Blues are prepared to pay around £90m for his services.
