Mikel Arteta to be sacked by Arsenal?

Arsenal are reportedly unhappy with manager Mikel Arteta, and could replace him at the end of the campaign.

The Spaniard was appointed in December 2019, and finished last season on a high by guiding the Gunners to FA Cup glory.

It was followed by Community Shield success, but things have since gone pear-shaped for the club in the Premier League.

The Gunners are currently 10th in the table with only 46 points, and are on course for their worst-ever Premier League finish.

According to Football.London, the hierarchy are evaluating Arteta's position, and he could be sacked unless the club win the Europa League.

Roma's Paulo Fonseca has been identified as a potential candidate, who could replace the Spaniard during the summer.

The Gunners face Villarreal in the last four of the Europa League, and the first leg will be played at El Madrigal tomorrow.

The club have received a big injury boost with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kieran Tierney and Alexandre Lacazette back in training.
