Danny Ings responds to Manchester United speculation
Danny Ings has stated that he is contracted to Southampton amid speculation that Manchester United are interested in signing him.
The Red Devils are unlikely to spend big on a new striker this summer, but they are still looking for a quality option to compete with Edinson Cavani.
It was recently claimed that United are interested in Ings, and are weighing up an approach ahead of the summer transfer window.
When asked about the gossip, Ings reaffirmed that he is contracted to the Saints, and won't speak about the rumours surrounding his future.
"I've got a contract until the summer of 2022. I haven't really acknowledged them (transfer rumours). Ultimately, I've still got a contract here," he told TalkSPORT.
Ings netted 25 goals for the Saints during the previous campaign. He has scored only 13 times this season, having struggled with injury concerns.
Despite this, he is highly-rated by Premier League rivals, and has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur over the past few months.
