Ronaldo to Manchester United?

Manchester United are monitoring Cristiano Ronaldo with a view to a possible approach during the summer transfer window.

The Portugal international has spent the past three seasons with Juventus, netting 101 goals from just 133 appearances.

He has another 12 months left on his contract, and reports claim that he could be on the move in the coming weeks.

According to The Athletic, United are keeping tabs on the 36-year-old, and could be tempted to lodge an offer for him.

It is added that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in touch with his former teammate over a possible comeback.

Ronaldo spent six seasons with United between 2003 and 2009, where he won eight major honours including the Champions League.

United recently renewed the contract of Edinson Cavani for another year despite him being 34, and age is unlikely to prove a barrier.

Juventus are expected to demand at least £40 million to consider the sale of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner this summer.
