Arsenal handed boost in signing Argentine attacker
Arsenal have been handed a boost in signing Emiliano Buendia with Norwich City willing to sanction his departure this summer.
Buendia enjoyed a superb 2020/21 campaign for the Canaries, registering 15 goals and 17 assists from 39 league outings.
The club have returned to the top-flight after just one season, and The Athletic reports that Buendia could head for the exit door.
There has been a mutual understanding between the player and the Canaries that it is the right moment to part ways.
Daniel Farke's side are still expected to demand £40m for the Argentine, who recently earned his maiden international call-up.
The Gunners are long-term admirers of the attacker, and they failed with an approach during the January transfer window.
They may face competition for his signature this summer, with interest from fellow Premier League side Aston Villa.
The Villans could swoop for the 24-year-old's signature, suppose captain Jack Grealish pursues a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Manchester City are reportedly keen on the England international.
