Arsenal chief wants £40m attacker as first summer signing
Arsenal's new director of football Richard Garlick has set his sights on signing Norwich City forward Emiliano Buendia.
Buendia was on the Gunners' radar in January, but they were unable to convince the Canaries into a transfer agreement.
The Canaries were focused on top-flight promotion, and did not want to lose their main creative player midway through the season.
According to football.london, Buendia is likely to leave the club this summer, and there is a mutual understanding between both parties.
The Canaries want around £40 million for the playmaker, and it is claimed that Garlick has identified him as the top transfer target.
The Gunners are planning a spending spree for the summer, and Garlick wants Buendia as the first signing of the transfer window.
Aston Villa have also been linked with the 24-year-old, but the player is said to prefer a move to the north London giants.
Buendia had a superb 2020/21 campaign for the Canaries, registering 15 goals and 17 assists from 39 Championship games.
