Arsenal enter race to sign 24yo Barcelona attacker
Arsenal have reportedly joined Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the race to sign Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres next year, according to TBR Football.
The Gunners were widely tipped to bolster their attack during the summer transfer window, but they made just one signing in Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea.
The club are likely to bolster their options at the turn of the year and reports claim that they are monitoring Torres, who has fallen down the pecking order under Hansi Flick.
Torres was linked with the Gunners in late 2021, but he ended up joining Barcelona from Manchester City. He has since contributed 26 goals and 15 assists for them.
He is no longer an assured starter and the Gunners could look to bring him back to the Premier League when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Gunners are likely to face competition from Villa and Newcastle. Mikel Arteta is reportedly a big admirer of the Spain international.
