Smith Rowe set for new Arsenal contract

Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe is close to signing a new long-term deal, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims.

The 20-year-old made his breakthrough with the Gunners last term, registering four goals and seven assists from 33 appearances.

He has two years remaining on his existing deal with the club, but talks are already ongoing over a new and improved contract.

As per Romano, the north London giants are set to hand him a new five-year contract, and an announcement will be made shortly.

Meanwhile, the reputed journalist revealed that the Gunners could offload at least three players over the coming weeks.

Granit Xhaka appears on his way to Roma while Matteo Guendouzi has been heavily linked with French club Marseille.

Elsewhere, Willian is set to leave the capital outfit after just one campaign. The Brazilian struggled for consistency with the club.

He has been linked with a possible move to Major League Soccer this summer with reported interest from Inter Miami.
