Manchester United expected to loan out 23-year-old star

Manchester United are expected to sanction the temporary departure of Axel Tuanzebe this summer.

Tuanzebe was the fourth-choice centre-back last season, behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

The club are aiming to land a high-profile defender to partner Maguire, and Tuanzebe is reportedly free to leave on loan.

A number of Premier League and overseas clubs have expressed interest in signing the 23-year-old.

Tuanzebe prefers to play in central defence, but he can also feature on the right side of the backline.

He previously spent time on loan with Aston Villa, where he was hugely successful in 2018/19.

The Villans are searching for a centre-back, and they could make an approach to re-sign him.

The club have Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa as the regular centre-backs under Dean Smith.

However, the manager wants more competition for places. Tuanzebe could be assured regular game time.

Tuanzebe managed just 918 minutes of first-team football last term.
