Arsenal target Alexander Isak signs new long-term contract
Arsenal target Alexander Isak has reportedly put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract with Real Sociedad.
The Swede had an impressive 2020/21 campaign for Sociedad, registering 17 goals from 34 La Liga appearances.
His progress had caught the eye of Arsenal and Chelsea, but the duo may have to wait until next summer to sign him.
Isak's previous deal was due to expire in June 2024. He has now put pen-to-paper on a new contract until the summer of 2026.
He had a €70 million release clause on his previous contract. The La Liga club have now increased the valuation to €90m.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Borussia Dortmund no longer have a buy-back clause for their former striker.
Sociedad have paid a compensation fee to remove the option. They are prepared to keep Isak for another season before considering his sale.
Real Madrid have also been linked with the Sweden international, and there could be a bidding war for his services next summer.
