Aston Villa chase Sidwell

Aston Villa are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell in the summer to replace Gareth Barry should he decide to leave Villa and join Liverpool.

It seems likely that Gareth Barry will move to Anfield as Steven Gerrard has told Rafa Benitez to sign the Villa midfielder.

A move for Steve Sidwell could be on the cards if Villa make an offer of £3 million to land the former Reading midfielder.

Martin O'Neill is a big fan of Sidwell, who has been frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities at Chelsea this season under Avram Grant.
