AS Monaco enter race to sign Arsenal midfielder
AS Monaco have reportedly registered an interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock.
The 21-year-old had an impressive loan stint with Newcastle United earlier this year, registering eight goals from 14 appearances.
The Gunners have yet to decide on his future, but reports claim that they would be prepared to sell him for around £30 million.
The Magpies are currently exploring another loan deal for Willock, but RMC Sport claims that Monaco have joined the pursuit.
Monaco are looking to add more quality young talent to their ranks. They have recently stalled in negotiations for Lyon's Jean Lucas.
Willock has been identified as the alternative target, but it is unclear whether they will meet the asking price of the Gunners.
Meanwhile, The Mail claims that the Magpies are growingly optimistic that they can land Willock on another temporary stint.
A decision could be made in the next 48 hours. Willock has two years left on his contract, and may have to sign an extension to leave on loan.
