Lautaro Martinez open to Arsenal transfer

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez would welcome a move to Arsenal during the ongoing transfer window, The Athletic claims.

The Argentine was impressive for the Nerazzurri last term, registering 19 goals and 11 assists from 48 appearances in all competitions.

There has not been much speculation over his future this summer, but The Athletic claims that the Gunners are interested in him.

They recently made contact with the Nerazzurri for Martinez, and proposed to offer Alexandre Lacazette as part of the agreement.

However, the San Siro outfit prefer a straight cash deal. It is claimed that a fee of around £77m would convince them to sanction his sale.

The same report claims that Martinez would welcome the prospect of joining the Gunners if they can agree a fee with the Nerazzurri.

Martinez is currently on wages worth £2.1m annually. He has less than two years left on his existing contract with the club.

Talks are yet to comment over a renewal. It is claimed that the Gunners could offer him a significant hike on his salary.
