Tottenham Hotspur confirm new defender signing
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Cristian Romero from Atalanta BC.
The Argentine has joined the north London giants on loan with an obligation to buy for €50 million next summer.
He becomes the club's third high-profile signing of the transfer window after Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini.
Spurs are eyeing more signings before the transfer deadine. They are prioritising a move for a new striker.
Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez has been heavily linked, but the Nerazzurri are reluctant to sanction his departure.
They recently sold Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea for €115m and are adamant that they won't sell another top striker.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Argentina international. It appears that they may have to look elsewhere.
Both clubs have also been associated with Dusan Vlahovic of Fiorentina, who bagged 21 goals in Serie A last term.
Fiorentina won't sell him cheaply this summer, and reports claim that they will demand at least €60m for his services.
