Cavani set for Manchester United stay despite Ronaldo's return

Manchester United have no plans of parting ways with Edinson Cavani after an agreement to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 36-year-old will make a sensational return to the Red Devils after 11 seasons, and this has led to speculation over Cavani's future.

The Uruguayan signed a one-year contract extension earlier this year after making a huge impression in the second half of the campaign.

However, there are now doubts whether he will start for them regularly with Ronaldo expected to lead the line for the Mancunian giants.

The club have still decided to keep Cavani for the season. The 34-year-old also has no plans of leaving and he is happy to stay.

There will be fierce competition for the striker's position, but Ronaldo will be expected to lead the line so long as he is fit and available.

The likes of Cavani, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford could also feature up front during the season.
