Manchester United have reportedly ended their pursuit of Kieran Trippier with their decision to keep Diogo Dalot.

Dalot was hugely impressive for the Red Devils in pre-season, but it has been claimed that he could be loaned out with an obligation to buy.

Borussia Dortmund have been linked with his services, but Fabrizio Romano claims that the Red Devils have made a U-turn on their decision.

Dalot is now expected to compete with Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the right-back position. The club won't continue their pursuit of Trippier.

The Red Devils tried to sign Trippier for around £20m earlier this summer, but they were left surprises by Atletico's transfer demands.

The Spanish champions wanted the £34m release clause to be paid in full, and United now appear to have cooled their interest.

Trippier could yet return to the Premier League this summer with interest from Arsenal, who are bottom of the standings.

The north London giants have made a dreadful start to the season, and could be eyeing few signings before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.
