Liverpool and Tottenham handed boost in signing Serie A midfielder
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in signing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
The Ivorian has entered the final year of his contract, and he has no plans of extending his stay with the Rossoneri.
The San Siro giants have offered a salary of around £6m per year, but the midfielder has rejected the proposal.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Kessie appears likely to leave Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Spurs were interested in him in the recent transfer window. They are likely to push to sign him on a pre-contract in January.
However, they are set to face stiff competition with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain also interested in his services.
Kessie has a dream of playing in the Premier League. He has previously said that he is a big fan of Manchester United.
The Red Devils are likely to sign a defensive midfielder next summer, and they could enter the race for the 24-year-old.
