Tottenham Hotspur enter race to sign Nigerian striker
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined West Ham United in the race to sign Genk striker Paul Onuachu.
The Nigeria international netted 35 goals for the Belgian giants last season, and he has continued his fine form with 10 goals this term.
His performances are attracting interest from several European clubs, but his representatives are keen to bring him to the Premier League.
West Ham United and Southampton have already made contact with his entourage, but Spurs are also preparing to enter the pursuit.
The north London club kept hold of Harry Kane over the summer, and they are now keen to supplement him with a quality back-up.
Onuachu has been earmarked as a potential candidate for the role, but he could turn them down for regular playing time elsewhere.
With a World Cup coming up next year, he may want assurances of first-team football which may dent Spurs' transfer pursuit.
Onuachu was fancied to join the Hammers earlier this summer, but a deal did not materialise due to differences in the transfer valuation.
