Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger provides contract update
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has said that he is happy at the west London club and is unconcerned by the transfer speculation.
The Germany international has eight months remaining on his contract, and he could leave the Blues for free next summer.
Talks have been ongoing between the hierarchy and his agent but so far, there has been no progress over a contract renewal.
This has led to speculation that the 28-year-old could leave on a Bosman transfer, but Rudiger is unperturbed by the situation.
Speaking to The Guardian, the centre-back said that he is happy with the proceedings at the Blues that is the most important thing.
He added that negotiations were held with his representative while hinting that there has been a stumbling block over an extension.
He said: "There was a talk between Marina and my agent. We have the situation where we are at now and I have nothing to do with all the speculation."
Rudiger wants around £200,000-a-week to sign a new deal, but the board are reluctant to pay more than £150,000 weekly as of now.
