Crystal Palace linked with shock move for Arsenal winger

Crystal Palace have been linked with a surprise move for Nicolas Pepe ahead of the January transfer window.

The Ivorian has started only five Premier League games this term, and there is speculation that he could leave the club.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Palace boss Patrick Vieira has his sights on signing Pepe to bolster his attack in January.

Pepe was signed by the Gunners for a staggering £72m, but they are unlikely to recoup the sum amid his inconsistent displays.

They are prepared to cut their losses on the winger. Arteta has already urged the club's hierarchy to pursue another wide player.

The Eagles are likely to propose an initial loan deal for Pepe in January with the option to buy at the end of the campaign.

The London outfit made a slow start to the campaign under Vieira, but have found momentum over the past few weeks.

They are presently five points behind fifth-placed Arsenal in 10th.
