Newcastle United ready to swoop for Man Utd attacker
Newcastle United are ready to make a winter approach for Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard, Football Insider claims.
The England international has played under 100 minutes of Premier League football this term, and he is keen to move on.
The Magpies are keeping tabs on his situation, and it is claimed that they could pay a significant fee to sign him in January.
On top of this, they are prepared to make Lingard their highest earner in order to convince him to join them next month.
Lingard will enter the final six months of his contract in January. West Ham United have also been linked with his services.
The 28-year-old had a superb loan spell with the Hammers earlier this year with nine goals and five assists from 16 games.
David Moyes' side could make an offer next month, but it is claimed that United are unlikely to entertain any bids from them.
The Hammers are genuine top-four contenders, and United don't want to strengthen their chances by selling Lingard to them.
