Chelsea interested in Barcelona full-back?

Chelsea have reportedly earmarked Sergino Dest as a potential transfer target for next month.

The Blues started the season with Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell as the left wing-back options, but the latter is now injured.

He suffered a significant knee injury last month. The Englishman is now undergoing rehabilitation and will not be rushed back.

According to The Express, the Blues could make an approach for Dest if Chilwell does not make significant progress in his recovery.

Dest can play on either side of the central defenders. He has also operated in the right-wing position for the Catalan giants this season.

The Dutchman has made 16 appearances this term, but has recently fallen out-of-favour, leading to suggestions that he could be sold.

The European champions could be willing to spend as much as £30m for the United States international, who was previously with Ajax.

Dest has also been linked with Newcastle United, but a deal seems unlikely amid the Magpies' relegation tussle in the Premier League.
