Everton weighing up move for Man Utd midfielder
Everton are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder James Garner this month.
The Red Devils graduate was hugely impressive on loan at Nottingham Forest last term. He rejoined the Championship club in the summer.
The 20-year-old has had another solid season in the centre of the park, and the Toffees are reportedly keen on signing him permanently.
The Merseyside outfit have plenty of midfield options in their ranks, but manager Rafael Benitez wants to freshen things up.
The club have already reinforced the squad with new full-backs this month in the form of Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson.
The onus is now on pursuing a defensive midfielder. Benitez has urged the hierarchy to secure the services of Garner from United.
The youngster is currently on loan with Forest, but the Red Devils may recall him if they receive a lucrative offer from the Toffees.
Garner is contracted to the Red Devils until the summer of 2024, with the option for another 12 months. He could be available for £20m.
