Liverpool rejected chance to re-sign Philippe Coutinho
Liverpool snubbed the opportunity to re-sign Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho, according to Sky Sports News.
The 29-year-old recently completed his loan move to Aston Villa. The Midlands outfit have the option to sign him in the summer.
Prior to his switch, he was linked with several high-profile clubs including the Reds. It is now reported that Jurgen Klopp opted against a reunion.
Villa are scheduled to face Manchester United away in the FA Cup third round on Monday before hosting them in the Premier League five days later.
Coutinho could make his debut in the latter of those games. The Brazil international likes to face the Red Devils, and has scored twice against them.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are not planning any new arrivals this month despite missing Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita due to AFCON duty.
They were linked with Villarreal's Arnaut Danjuma lately, but the Dutch attacker has a staggering €75m release clause on his current contract.
