Arsenal must trigger release clause to land La Liga star

Arsenal must trigger the release clause of Alexander Isak to sign him from Real Sociedad.

The Gunners are looking for a new marksman this month, and they have identified Dusan Vlahovic as the prime target.

However, the Serbian has second thoughts over the move, and reports claim that he may not leave Fiorentina until the summer.

Hence, the Gunners are looking for alternatives. Isak is one of the top names on their wishlist, but a deal could be difficult.

Sociedad have no plans of selling him midway through the campaign, and any interested side must trigger the €90m buy-out clause.

The scenario could, however, change at the end of the campaign. AS claims that he could be available for around €50m by then.

Barcelona are also interested in the former Borussia Dortmund man, but Sociedad would prefer to sell their prized asset abroad.

Gunners technical director Edu Gaspar remains a huge admirer of him, and has been keeping tabs on his progress in recent years.
