Arsenal need to pay record fee for La Liga striker

Arsenal will need to break the bank to sign Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak this month.

The Gunners recently failed to convince Dusan Vlahovic to join them from Fiorentina. The Serbian has chosen to sign for Juventus instead.

Hence, they are looking for alternatives. Isak has been a long-term target for the club, but they face a difficult task of signing him this month.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Sociedad have no plans of parting ways with the striker unless a club triggers the €90m release clause on his contract.

The Gunners are currently not in a position to do so. The north London giants are hoping to negotiate a lesser fee, but look set to be disappointed.

Sociedad will only negotiate for the striker in the summer, and the Gunners may need to look elsewhere for a new centre-forward signing.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to be sold by the Gunners this month, but a move could be delayed until they pursue an ideal replacement.
