Arsenal agree deal to sign USA goalkeeper
Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper Matt Turner from New England Revolution.
The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the United States. He has earned 13 caps since his international debut last year.
According to ESPN, the Gunners have now finalised a deal worth €10m for the shot-stopper, who will join them in the summer.
Turner has already agreed personal terms over a four-year contract, and an official statement is expected in the coming hours.
His arrival is expected to pave the way for the departure of Bernd Leno, who is desperate for playing time ahead of the World Cup.
The German was hoping to leave the Gunners before Monday's deadline, but the club are unlikely to entertain any transfer offers.
Leno will enter the final year of his contract this summer. The Gunners are likely to demand around £15m to sanction his sale.
Newcastle United are deemed to be interested, but the 29-year-old could fancy a return to Bundesliga ahead of the 2022/23 season.
