Man Utd join Chelsea in race to sign French midfielder

Manchester United have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in the next transfer window.

The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the best upcoming defensive midfielders in Ligue 1, and has been tipped to leave Monaco soon.

According to RMC Sport, the French outfit are aware of the transfer interest, but they are unlikely to sanction his exit this month.

Instead, they are prepared to wait until the summer where his departure is 'inevitable'. United and Chelsea are among clubs interested.

Both of them have contacted his representatives regarding a summer deal. Monaco have yet to set an asking price for their prized asset.

There has been plenty of speculation over the price tag, but the Principality outfit are happy to assess the situation at the end of the season.

Aside from the Premier League duo, Real Madrid are in the mix to land the box-to-box midfielder, who made his international debut last year.
