Chelsea suffer contract setback with defender

Antonio Rudiger news

Rudiger snubs another Chelsea contract offer

Chelsea have suffered a setback with Antonio Rudiger turning down another contract offer, according to Daily Mail.

The German has just five months left on his deal, and he has yet to be convinced to pen a contract extension.

Rudiger is presently on £100,000-a-week. He previously snubbed an offer of around £140,000-a-week from the Blues.

The hierarchy have now increased the package to nearly £200,000-a-week, but the defender has once again snubbed the offer.

The west London giants continue to remain optimistic over keeping him, but they are seemingly running out of time.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are hot on the trail for his services, and have made contact with his representative.

Both clubs are ready to offer him a significant signing-on fee for a free transfer. Rudiger will surely be tempted.

His first priority is to stay with the Blues, but he is unlikely to sign a new deal until he receives a suitable proposal.

The 28-year-old could be eyeing as much as £250,000-a-week to stay.
