Serie A outfit to make fresh bid for Arsenal midfielder
Roma will make a fresh attempt to sign Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka during the summer transfer window.
Xhaka was widely tipped to join the Giallorossi last summer. The Swiss had agreed personal terms over a four-year deal.
However, a move did not materialise in the end. Roma were willing to pay £15m, much lower than the £34m price tag.
Xhaka has since extended his contract by another year until 2024, but football.london claims that he could leave soon.
The midfielder remains a fond admirer of Jose Mourinho, and he would not refuse the opportunity to work under the Portuguese.
Roma signed Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan from the Gunners in January, and they could look to sign him permanently.
Still, Xhaka is being considered by the Serie A outfit. The club will be hoping to sign him for a discounted price this time.
The former Arsenal captain has made just 13 appearances this term amid a long-term knee injury and two red card suspensions.
