Manchester United enter race to sign £40m Arsenal target
Manchester United have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian has developed into a key player for the Foxes, but he could be on the move during the summer transfer window.
His current deal expires in less than 17 months, and he has repeatedly turned down talks over a possible contract extension.
Earlier last month, the Gunners were deemed favourites to sign him with the hierarchy holding talks with his representatives.
However, they are now set to face competition from the Red Devils, who are desperate for a top-class defensive midfielder.
West Ham United's Declan Rice is obviously the number one target, but the hefty £100m price tag is set to put them off.
Hence, Tielemans is the alternative. The Belgian is capable of playing anywhere in midfield with the same efficiency.
Tielemans has bagged 23 goals and 22 assists from 134 games for Leicester. He scored their FA Cup-winning goal last term.
