Chelsea to monitor Arsenal target on Tuesday
Chelsea are set to monitor the performance of Lille striker Jonathan David during the Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues entertain Lille in the first leg of the round of 16 tie tomorrow. David is expected to be the main scoring threat for the opposition.
The 22-year-old has been in fine form with 16 goals this campaign, and there is already speculation that he could move away during the summer.
Arsenal have already registered an interest in the Canadian star, but the Blues could yet offer stiff competition in the pursuit of his services.
According to football.london, the player will be closely monitored by Blues scouts tomorrow. Manager Thomas Tuchel will also have a keen eye.
The west London giants spent a club-record fee to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter last summer, but he has yet to make a major impression.
He has netted just 10 goals from 28 outings, and this could force the Blues to pursue a new striker. David could be available for £45 million.
