Man Utd seriously interested in 27-year-old midfielder

Manchester United are seriously interested in signing Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, Il Messaggero claims.

The Serbian has been a long-term target for the Red Devils, and he could be on the move during the next transfer window.

The 27-year-old will enter the final two years of his contract in July, and he has no plans of penning an extension with Lazio.

Hence, they are ready to sell him to plan for the next cycle. It appears United could be front-runners to land his services.

The Red Devils are likely to lose Paul Pogba when his contract expires this summer. Milinkovic-Savic could replace him.

The duo have similar attacking attributes. Milinkovic-Savic has bagged eight goals and eight assists in Serie A this season.

However, he is better defensively than the World Cup winner with his strong tackling skills. He would be a quality signing.

United won't get him easy with a price tag of €80m. The Red Devils will need to guarantee him Champions League football.
