Liverpool defender to push for January exit

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez will push for a move away from the club during the next transfer window, The Mirror claims.
The England international played a key role in the Reds' Premier League triumph in 2019/2020, but has since struggled for regular game time.
Injuries have partly contributed to the setback. He is now the fourth-choice centre-back behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate.
According to The Mirror, the 24-year-old is unlikely to entertain a bit-part role, and will push for a new challenge during the summer transfer window.
Aston Villa and Newcastle United were keen on signing him in January, but manager Jurgen Klopp was against the idea of sanction his exit.
Gomez was linked with a loan move earlier this year, but there could be permanent offers on the table at the end of the season.
The Magpies could be a realistic destination for him, particularly if they manage to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The club are now backed by wealthy Saudi owners, and they could be a massive spending spree ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
