Manchester United defender ready to discuss new deal

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is prepared to sign a new long-term contract, according to The Guardian.

The left-back currently has 16 months left on his contract, but United have the option to extend his stay for another year.

It is now reported that Shaw is pleased with his current status at the club, and would be open to a new deal with a pay rise.

The England star was in superb form for the Red Devils last term, and went on to star for the Three Lions during the Euros.

However, he has struggled to replicate the form this season. He has been guilty of positional errors and lapses in concentration.

Despite this, he has been the regular in the left-back role ahead of Alex Telles. He has only missed games due to fitness issues.

Shaw has suffered a couple of injuries this campaign. He is currently out of action after being tested positive for coronavirus last week.
