AC Milan are confident of finalising a pre-contract agreement with Divock Origi this month.

The Belgian has been with Liverpool for the past seven years, but his association should end soon.

The striker's contract expires on June 30, and he has no plans of renewing amid the lack of first-team football.

Milan have been in constant contact with his agent for weeks, and Sky Italy claims that a deal is very close.

Origi can sign a pre-contract with the Rossoneri. The Serie A giants want to sort out the move by March 31.

The Rossoneri have a long-term plan for Origi. They consider him as a successor to Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Giroud and Ibrahimovic are 35 and 40 respectively. Milan are braced for their potential departures over the next 14 months.

Aside from Origi, the club also have their sights on landing Eric Bailly from Manchester United, having failed with a winter move.

Bailly is frustrated by his lack of minutes, and is expected to push for a summer exit. He could join them on an initial loan.
