Man Utd and Arsenal suffer striker transfer blow
Manchester United and Arsenal could miss out on signing Benfica striker Darwin Nunez during this summer's transfer window.
The Uruguayan has been in stunning form for the Portuguese giants this campaign, bagging 28 goals from 35 outings.
Ahead of the summer, he has been touted for a big-club move. United and Arsenal have been linked with him in recent weeks.
Benfica are likely to demand €100m for his services, but Record claims that Nunez may not be tempted to join the Premier League duo.
Manchester City are said to be a preferred destination for him. However, the Cityzens are prioritising a move for Erling Braut Haaland.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have also been keeping tabs on Nunez, and they could have a better chance of signing him this summer.
Compared to Arsenal and United, Atletico are in a better position to qualify for the Champions League via a top-four La Liga finish.
Nunez has also been linked with Liverpool in the past, but they are not planning to make any marquee forward signings this summer.
