Manchester United are keeping tabs on River Plate midfielder Enzo Fernandez ahead of a potential summer transfer, TyC Sports claims.

The Argentine has had an impressive start to the current campaign, bagging three goals and three assists from nine league games.

He has also averaged more than two tackles per appearance. His form has caught the radar of several top European teams.

United are one of those clubs, and TyC Sports claims that they have been monitoring his performances over recent games.

Meanwhile, a United scout will also be in the stands to watch him when River Plate entertain Fortaleza in Copa Libertadores tonight.

The Red Devils are set to face fierce competition for the highly-rated youngster. Manchester City and Real Madrid are also keen.

City signed Fernandez's teammate Julian Alvarez in January, only to loan him back to the Argentine outfit for the rest of the campaign.

Fernandez is widely expected to ply his trade in Europe next term.
