Tottenham Hotspur urged to sign Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku touted for Spurs switch

Darren Bent believes Tottenham Hotspur should sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku in case Harry Kane leaves this summer.

Lukaku had a terrific campaign under Antonio Conte at Inter Milan last season, bagging 30 goals across all competitions.

His performances paved the way for his comeback with the Blues, but it has been far from ideal with just 12 goals thus far.

Ahead of the summer, there has been talk of Lukaku leaving the club, and Bent feels Spurs could be in the running to sign him.

He said: "If the worse came to the worse and Harry Kane did leave and go elsewhere, if they could get Lukaku in, we’ve seen Conte get the best out of Romelu Lukaku."

Lukaku has spoken fondly about his time at Inter with Conte, and he could be tempted by a reunion with the Italian at Tottenham.

Spurs may not assure him a starting role at the moment, but the scenario could completely change if Kane seeks a summer exit.

The England captain could leave the north London giants this summer suppose they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
